Three Wise Birds is a genuine craft cider, pressed from some of nature's finest apples grown in the sun soaked Hawke's Bay. Only the best handpicked apples from our own orchards go into making Three Wise Birds cider; then deliberately aged, to create what is the best of our art.
You see, we come from a family of orchardists and so grew up among the apple trees we now use to create our own range of ciders. The very birds that encompass our label used to fly among the apple canopy, mocking our hard labour as they sung sweet songs, of melodies pure and true.
Ours is a story of one 'cider master', two brothers and three wise birds.
A story that begins with Ricks, Eddie and Lou Crasborn and a dream to grow from the land, fast forward over 30 years and the brothers now grow some of the best apples and pears not only in New Zealand but the world over.
Brothers Charley and Jack weren't even a sparkle in Eddies eye when it all began but now bring youthful exuberance to the table, along with having grown up on the orchards they have a keen understanding of the apple industry.
Jack, with a real hands on mentality is the teams Production Manager and is learning the craft of cider making. Charley on the other hand doesn't mind the sound of his own voice, and is as such the Sales and Marketing Manager, responsible for getting the 'birds' from Cidery floor to your door.
Ian Thompson, Three Wise Birds head cider maker, is a master of the art. Once winner of the worlds best cider, Ian crafts our cider with passion, perfection and precision.
Three Wise Birds is a coming together of experience, youth and family.
